M, Tu, Th, F: 3:00 - 6:00 PM AND WED: 12-6 PM

Passionate about Newark youth aged 5-14

Strong instruction, facilitation & group management skills

Clear background check & child abuse records
-
English speaking proficiency
-
Able to teach a 10-12 week course in at least one non-academic enrichment skill:​​

1+ years of formal experience as a lead instructor of large groups of youth aged 10-14

Ideal Candidates
Are highly skilled and have formal classroom experience, a passion for working with inner-city youth, and 1+ year of instructional or related youth development experience.
General Qualifications

Eligible to work in the USA with children; clear fingerprinting, background checks

Some post-secondary undergraduate or technical career study

Available to work the assigned work schedule without conflict

Experience with children in large group instructional, coaching, or camp settings

Love working with children; connection/passion for mentoring Newark/inner-city youth

Strong classroom and group management skills

Excellent proactive planning and organizational skills

Ability to work collaboratively with the district, program, parents, and community leaders

Effective communication with sensitivity to others and a swift response to critically urgent incidents

Ability to professionally and positively give and receive feedback, implementing necessary changes

Compliance with the company, site, and/or school district/network policies, protocols
