Welcome to the latest updates from ASAS New Jersey, where we bring you exciting news on fundraising, our recent job fair, networking, and much more!
Join us as our Advisory Board grows!
We are thrilled to present a unique opportunity to join our esteemed Advisory Board. Our Advisory Board plays a pivotal role in providing guidance and support to our chapter's leadership. As esteemed members, they contribute strategic direction, facilitate fundraising efforts, and raise awareness in our community. We are seeking 7-8 exceptional individuals who can passionately champion the mission of After School All Stars, bringing their valuable skills, expertise, perspectives, resources, and networks to our dynamic team.
To kick-start this exciting endeavor, we hosted a Board Tour this week, where current and prospective board members were able to tour Camden Street Elementary School. They were able to engage directly with our talented scholars, and we had the opportunity to discuss the commitments and responsibilities of Advisory Board membership, while also shedding light on the extraordinary impact of our organization's work.
If you share an interest in serving as an Advisory Board member for After School All Stars New Jersey, we encourage you to send us an email at njconnect@afterschoolallstars.org. Your email will allow us to provide you with further information and guide you through the application process.

ASAS New Jersey in a Museum!
Our Scholars at Achieve Community Charter School currently has artwork displayed Project Ready's: Voting Power Experience pop-up museum in Downtown Newark!
Project Ready’s three-month-long interactive exhibit will enable residents to explore historical moments during the Civil Rights Movement on why their ancestors placed emphasis on voting. Moreover, this experience will assist visitors in comprehending the ways to wield their voting influence and actively participate in the upcoming local and state elections of 2023.
We “SEE” You!
Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to host our first Summer Employment Expo (SEE).
We had the opportunity to engage with over 75 talented and ambitious community members, conducting interviews with candidates and even providing immediate job offers. With the incredible support of our host team from After-School All-Stars New Jersey, the Boys and Girls Club - Newark, and Newark Thrives - United Way, along with the participation of various employer organizations, we have made significant strides towards closing the career and employment gap within the Out of School Time (OST) Youth-Serving organization sector in the Greater-Newark area.
We are still hiring for the summer. If you are interested in applying, click here:
